Tulsa World Announces Layoffs - Social media to blame?

My thoughts are with those who lost their jobs today at the Tulsa World.

Here is my question - economic downturn aside, does social media carry any blame for this turn of events?

However, there are many factors such as companies spending less on advertising. When a magazine or newspaper doesn't get enough ad dollars they can't pay the bills and unfortunately some of those bills include employees.; ▶ Reply to This

The illusion which many believed for a long time that news reporting in the papers was unbiased has become overwhelmingly obvious. Until newspaper and tv reporters learn to relay the facts, all the facts, and not try to underplay circumstances they don't want brought to light, people will absolutely look to the internet/social media for information since it is en mass leading people to feel they can piece together the full story better.; ▶ Reply to This
