Can social media put the spotlight back on Oklahoma's fine arts culture? Have you seen instances of it?

Hi Bianca,

With the right approach and strategy social media can be a strong contributor to putting fine arts in OKC back on the map.

Through the use of video, audio, photos, comments and conversation via social networking sites could give you what your looking for. Keeping in mind that over time the efforts build as will the objective your looking to achieve.

Remember, to not only use the "Big Three" but make efforts to be present on other niche sites that are factors for that specific industry.

Great answer, Monique. To those who will additionally reply, Fine Arts in this sense includes visual AND performing arts; individuals and organizations.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the example. I'd agree deadCenter's social media presence has been in the forefront. Do we think that it's because it is a newer organization? To give more breadcrumbs with regard to where this discussion could go, there are older Fine Arts institutions in Oklahoma who are concerned about decreasing patronage. Please share examples, specific or general about how social media has been used to put a new light on these organizations; can it sustain older audiences and can it attract newer patrons? Has it already?
